Service providers
These are the companies that receive reader data to run SchoolBoardNews, what each one receives, and a link to its own privacy policy. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and your choices. Last updated October 22, 2026.
Hosting, database and email
- Supabase, our database and sign-in provider. Stores account data and the forms you send, and sends account emails. Supabase's privacy policy.
- Resend, our email provider. Receives your email address and the headlines in your digest if you turn the digest on, your email address and each issue's contents if you sign up for the newsletter, and the emails our forms send (to our team and your receipt). Resend's privacy policy.
- Vercel, our hosting provider. Runs the website and its server functions, so it receives every request's IP address and browser details. Our fonts are served from our own site, so no font provider receives your IP address. Vercel's privacy policy.
Analytics and error monitoring
- PostHog (data stored in the US), our analytics provider. Receives the usage analytics described in our privacy policy. Website requests go through our own domain; PostHog uses your IP address to estimate an approximate location and then discards it. Nothing is sent if analytics is off. PostHog's privacy policy.
- Sentry, our error-monitoring service. Receives error reports and timing data for a sample of page loads and requests. Sentry's privacy policy.
Sign-in and billing
- Google and Apple, our sign-in options. Receive your sign-in, if you choose to sign in with them. Google and Apple's privacy policy.
- RevenueCat, our billing provider, with its payment processor. Receives your account ID and email address (for receipts) if you subscribe to Pro or buy ad-free. Card details go to its payment processor; we never see or store them. RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Advertising and ads measurement
- Google AdSense and Google AdMob, our advertising providers (AdSense on the website, AdMob in the iOS app). Receive your IP address, browser or device details and the page you're on when ads are shown. Ads are not personalized. Google AdSense and Google AdMob's privacy policy.
- Google Ads, our ads measurement provider. Receives the page address, your IP address and browser details, and whether you created an account, when its measurement tag loads (signed-out visitors only, never with a privacy signal or advertising or usage analytics off). Google Ads's privacy policy.
Sponsors and reader requests
- HubSpot (data stored in the US), our customer-relationship tool. Receives sponsor applications, messages and correction requests sent through our forms (with the sender's email), and, for signed-out visitors, the pages visited and the site or ad that brought them. Privacy requests and removal requests are never sent to it. HubSpot's privacy policy.
AI
- Anthropic, our AI provider (Claude). Receives story information to classify, screen and summarize stories, and the question you type into “Ask about [district]” with the stories it's answered from. No other reader information is sent. Anthropic's privacy policy.
Alerts and district search
- Your browser's push service, Expo and Apple, alert delivery. Your browser's push service (for example Google, Mozilla or Apple), or Expo and Apple for iPhone alerts, receive the alerts we send you, if you turn alerts on.
- SchoolBoardHQ district directory, a public school-district directory (based on federal NCES data), run by our sister product. Receives district searches and, if you use “use my location,” your approximate coordinates, to return nearby districts.
We don't sell reader data or share it with sponsors. We update this page when we add or change a provider. Questions: privacy@schoolboardnews.app.
